On Friday, a committee of Nobel price decides that the winner of the Nobel peace prize of 2020 is the united nations world food program (WEP) for their effort to fight against hunger and for helping and giving food to conflict area as well as preventing hunger to be a weapon in the conflict zone.

In the year 2015 elimination of hunger become United Nation’s sustainable development goal (SDGs) and the World Food Program is one of the main tools for the united nations to achieve its sustainable goal. Other agencies also playing a crucial role in eliminating hunger are World Bank, the food and agriculture organization (FAO), and n the International fund for agriculture development (IFAD).
World food program (WEP) was awarded by the Nobel Prize for their effort to fight against hunger and bettering situations of conflict zones and providing hunger to be weaponized. The world food program runs on public donation entirely and they were able to raise approximately 8 billion dollars and most of the money came from governments and corporations.

The world food program provides help in two ways such as by providing food directly to by cash-based transfer who need help. The cash-based system was first launched in 2005 in Sri Lanka after the tsunami.
