Protesters threw stones at police and burned tries on the road of Malmo late 28 August 2020 with the violence escalated after evening, according to police and national media.

In Sweden at least 10 people were arrested and several police officers wounded during clashes in Malmo (southern Sweden) after Danish politician was blocked from visiting a Koran-burning rally, police told Saturday.

The demonstration of about 300 people was related to an incident ahead in the day in which protesters flared a replica of the Islamic holy book, police spokesman Rickard Lundqvist told Swedish tabloid Expressen.

Around 10 to 20 protesters were arrested 28 August 2020 but were later released, police spokesman patic said and he added several police officers were injured after clashes.

The violence had receded by Saturday morning.

“Those who act like this have nothing to do with Islam,” Samir Muric, an imam, said on Facebook.

“It’s not right,” Malmo resident said. “But it wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t burnt the Koran,” he added.

Rasmus Paludan, leader of the far-right Danish anti-immigration party StramKurs (Hard Line), was expected to tour to Malmo to talk at Friday’s event, which is the exact day as the primary weekly prayers for Muslims.

However, administrations pre-empted Paludan’s entrance by declaring he had been prohibited from arriving in Sweden for two years. Authority later arrested him near Malmo.

“We suspect that he was going to break the law in Sweden,” CallePersson, spokesman for the police in Malmo told.

“There was also a risk that his behavior… would pose a threat to society.”

His followers went forward with the demonstration, during which six people were charged for provoking racial hostility.

“It hurts,” people of the Muslim community of Malmo told our team.

“People get mad and I understand that, but there are different paths of accomplishing, ” neighborhood said.

Lawyer Paludan later pitches a harsh message on Facebook and he is also active on YouTube and other social media.

“Sent back and banned from Sweden for two years. However, rapists and murderers are always welcome!” he wrote.

But on Saturday, people demonstrate (anti-Muslim) at Norway border during which few people tore ages of Islamic holy book (Koran) and spat on it.

Malmo is one of the biggest city in Sweden and almost 40% of it’s the population have a foreign origin.
